Danielle Shannon joins sister, Ava for final year of eligibility
HOUSTON – Former LSU midfielder, Danielle Shannon, joins the University of Houston Soccer team ahead of the spring season Head Coach Ben Williams announced Friday.
"Danielle is a top SEC competitor with the engine and versatility to impact every phase of play," Williams said. "She's been a cornerstone at LSU, driving their midfield with intensity and quality. Bringing her back home to play in front of the community that raised her is huge, not just for her and her family, but for the local community and our program."
The Atascocita, Texas, native joins her sister, Ava, and will enter her senior season in 2026 after missing the 2025 season due to injury.
Shannon appeared in 46 matches over her three seasons at LSU with 38 starts including being the only Tiger to start all 21 matches in 2024.
The midfielder registered one goal and five assists while taking 34 career shots including the game winner in a 4-1 victory at San Francisco.
Prior to LSU, Shannon played for the Houston Dash Girls Academy and was consistently ranked in the IMG Top 150, reaching as high as No. 34 in the nation, No. 15 in her position and No. 2 in the Texas region.
