Senior guards Emanuel Sharp and Milos Uzan each tally 26 points
LAS VEGAS, Nev. – Senior guards Emanuel Sharp and Milos Uzan each scored 26 points and teamed for all 11 of the #2/3 University of Houston Men's Basketball program's points in overtime during the Cougars' 78-74 victory over Syracuse on the first day of the Players Era Championship inside MGM Grand Garden Arena on Monday afternoon.
Uzan, playing in his hometown, scored six points in OT, and Sharp had five to keep the Cougars (6-0) undefeated.
Uzan enjoyed a career-high points total and surpassed his previous high of 25 points against rv/#24 Arizona during the Phillips 66 Big 12 Championship Title Game on March 15, 2025.
Freshman center/forward Chris Cenac Jr. scored all eight of his points after halftime and had 12 rebounds for his third double-digit rebounding performance of the season.
Tyler Betse led Syracuse (4-1) with 16 points while Kiyan Anthony added 10 points.
Houston led by just two points before going on a nine-point run to take a 65-54 lead with 4:56 left to seemingly seize control.
However, the Orange went on a 11-point surge, with Betsey making a transition 3-pointer with 54.6 seconds to catch the Cougars at 67-67.
That sent the game into overtime, where Sharp and Uzan took over.
