Houston faces High Point for the first time in program history
HOUSTON – The University of Houston Women's Basketball program returns to Fertitta Center to face High Point for the first time in program history at 2 p.m., Sunday.

THE GAME
- Houston and High Point will meet for the first time in program history on Sunday.
- Head Coaches Matthew Mitchell and Chelsea Banbury will meet for the first time.
- Mitchell is 2-0 against High Point. He faced the Panthers during his tenure at Kentucky.
- Houston looks to pick up its third home win of the season.
- Jade Jones delivered a clutch game-winner to lift Houston to its first road victory of the season, sealing a 65-63 win against UTRGV on Thursday night at UTRGV Fieldhouse.
- In the final play of the game, Houston inbounded the ball and put the ball in Jones' hands to deliver the game-winning basket over UTRGV.
- Thursday's victory marked Houston's first road win since it defeated Oklahoma State, 65-57, on Feb. 17, 2024, in Stillwater, Okla.
- Jones made her first collegiate start, leading the Cougars with 18 points and eight rebounds. Kyndall Hunter and Briana Peguero followed with 12 points each.
