Men’s Basketball Unveils Big 12 Conference Schedule

Cougars start league slate on Dec. 30 at Oklahoma State; Meet BYU in home conference opener in Fertitta Center on Jan. 4, 2025

Under Sampson's leadership, the Cougars will compete in 10 Big 12 home games inside the Fertitta Center and 10 road games during the 2024-25 campaign.
Houston's Big 12 schedule begins at Oklahoma State in Stillwater, Okla., on Dec. 30. From there, the Cougars open their conference home schedule and the year 2025 with back-to-back contests against BYU (Jan. 4) and TCU (Jan. 6).
The Cougars meet West Virginia (Jan. 15) and Utah (Jan. 21) in home games inside Fertitta Center with road tilts at Kansas State (Jan. 11), at UCF (Jan. 18), at Kansas (Jan, 25) and at West Virginia (Jan. 29).
In February, Houston opens the month with back-to-back home games against Texas Tech (Feb. 1) and Oklahoma State (Feb. 4) with additional home contests against Baylor (Feb. 10) and Iowa State (Feb. 22).
The Cougars hit the road to take on Colorado (Feb. 8), Arizona (Feb. 15), Arizona State (Feb. 18) and Texas Tech (Feb. 24).
Houston begins the final month of the regular season against Cincinnati (March 1) and plays host to Kansas on Senior Day for the second straight season on March 3. The Cougars close the regular season at Baylor on March 8 in Waco, Texas, before the Phillips 66 Big 12 Championship inside T-Mobile Center in Kansas City, Mo., on March 11-15.
A year ago, the Cougars posted a perfect 17-0 record inside Fertitta Center and enter the 2024-25 campaign with a 22-game home winning streak, the nation's longest active streak.

The Cougars' 2024-25 non-conference slate features five 20-game winners from a year ago – Auburn (27), Hofstra (20), Troy (20), Toledo (20) and Texas A&M-Corpus Christi (21) – and four schools which finished among their conference's Top-Three leaders, including Mid-American Conference regular-season champion Toledo.
Houston open the 2024-25 campaign when it meets Jackson State on Monday, Nov. 4, inside Fertitta Center.
After facing Auburn inside Toyota Center as part of The Battleground 242K on Saturday, Nov. 9, the Cougars return to Fertitta Center to meet Louisiana on Wednesday, Nov. 13 and Hofstra on Friday, Nov. 22.
Houston will compete at the Players Era Festival in Las Vegas, Nev., on Nov. 26-29. In its inaugural season, the tournament is aimed at captivating fans and provide student-athlete with opportunities to engage in unique name, image and likeness activities. Each participating team will engage in more than $1 million in NIL opportunities with Players Era sponsors outside of competition.
The Cougars open against Alabama at 7 p.m. (CT), Nov. 26, before taking on Notre Dame (11:30 p.m., Nov. 27) and Rutgers (2:30 p.m. CT, Nov. 30).
From there, Houston returns to Fertitta Center to play four straight home games. The homestand begins Saturday, Dec. 7 against Butler during the Big 12-Big East Battle.
Houston then closes the month against Troy (Tuesday, Dec. 10), Toledo (Wednesday, Dec. 18) and against Texas A&M-Corpus Christi (Saturday, Dec. 21).
