PREVIEW: Soccer Travels to Face Baylor on Sunday

WACO, Texas – The University of Houston soccer team travels to face Baylor at 1 p.m., Sunday at Betty Lou Mays Field.

LAST TIME OUT
Houston (3-4-1) dropped its Big 12 home opener to Arizona State 2-0, on Thursday.
The Cougars posted 11 shots on the night, led by junior forward Cameryn Maddox with six shots including three of them on target.
Sophomore goalkeeper Olivia Dietrich recorded seven saves to move into eighth place on Houston's career saves list. The Broomfield, Colorado, native now has 123 saves in her career.

ABOUT THE COUGARS

Houston is in its third season under Head Coach Jaime Frias.
In the first RPI ranking of the season, the Cougars come in at No. 88.
Redshirt sophomore goalkeeper Olivia Dietrich is second in the conference in total saves with 46 on the season. She trails Murphy Sheaff (Kansas State) who has 49 on the year.
Dietrich leads the conference with 5.75 saves per game.
Dietrich is top 10 in program history in career wins (sixth), games started by a goalie (sixth), ties (fifth) and saves (eighth).
The Cougars return their two leading scorers in junior forward Cameryn Maddox and sophomore midfielder Aryanna Jimison.
Maddox is five goals away from entering the top 10 in program history in career goals scored while Jimison needs six goals to join the list.

SCOUTING THE BEARS

Baylor is led by Michelle Lenard, who is in her third season leading the Bears. She is 18-22-6 in her three seasons in Waco.
The Bears are 5-4-1 on the season and 0-2 in Big 12 play.
Baylor comes in at No. 45 in the first RPI ranking.
Tyler Isgrig leads the Bears with three goals on the season.
In its last match, Baylor fell to Arizona, 1-0 in Waco.

HISTORY WITH BAYLOR

Houston and Baylor meet for the eighth time.
Baylor leads the all-time series, 1-6.
The Cougars dropped the previous meeting against the Bears in Houston, 0-1 (Oct. 23, 2023).
Houston's lone win against Baylor was a 2-0 victory in Houston on August 27, 2006.
