Houston Takes Down Tarleton State

Senior forward Ramsey Davis’ goal in the 83rd minute gives the Cougars the 1-0 victory
STEPHENVILLE, Texas – The University of Houston soccer team won its first match of the season, 1-0 against Tarleton State at the Tarleton Soccer Complex Sunday afternoon.
Houston's (1-2-1) defense held Tarleton State (1-1-3) without a shot until the 65th minute. The Texans struck four straight shots, but a trio of saves from sophomore goalkeeper Olivia Dietrich kept the match scoreless.
In the 83rd minute, freshman forward Amanda Adams' shot was denied by goalkeeper Mikayla Kendall before senior forward Ramsey Davis tapped in the loose save attempt to score the lone goal of the match and give the Cougars the victory.
Sophomore midfielder Aryanna Jimison led the Cougars with four shots on the day, followed by three shots on goal each from senior defender Anna Reysa and junior forward Cameryn Maddox.
