Jimison Records Brace, Houston Defeats UTSA

Sophomore midfielder Aryanna Jimison records her first two goals of the season on Thursday
HOUSTON – Sophomore midfielder Ayranna Jimison recorded a brace as the University of Houston soccer team defeated UTSA, 2-1 at the Carl Lewis International Complex on Thursday evening.
Houston (2-2-1) scored the first goal of the match in the 39th minute as Jimison sprinted down the field as she broke through the UTSA defense finding the back of the net.
The Cougars doubled the lead in the 68th minute as senior midfielder Bri Hilsenteger led the break before dishing to senior defender Anna Reysa who found Jimison on the cross, scoing over the outstretched UTSA goalkeeper.
UTSA (3-2) would cut the Cougar lead in half with a goal in the 82nd minute. Jordan Walker and Bri Carrigan played a two-man-game as Carrigan found the upper right-hand corner of the net.
Sophomore goalkeeper Olivia Dietrich recorded 14 saves to set a season high for saves in a single match.
A red card was issued to junior forward Cameryn Maddox and Sasjah Dade in the 85th minute.
