Forever Coogs Returns to Fertitta Center in TBT Quarterfinals on Tuesday

HOUSTON – Following three straight wins, Forever Coogs returns to the Fertitta Center to play host to (5) Team Colorado at 8 p.m., Tuesday during the TBT Quarterfinals.This marks the first season in which a Houston alumni team has competed in the 64-team, $1 million winner-take-all tournament.
Playing as a #2 seed, Forever Coogs earned their way to the TBT Quarterfinals with three wins last week. The squad opened the tournament with a 71-60 win over (7) Austin's Own (Texas alumni) and followed that with a thrilling come-from-behind 79-76 win over (6) Once a Bronco (Boise State alumni).
In their most recent action, Forever Coogs enjoyed a 75-70 win over (5) Team Challenge ALS on Tuesday to advance to the Quarterfinals.
With a win Tuesday, Forever Coogs advances to the TBT Semifinals where they would face the winner of (6) Eberlein Drive-(5) Happy Valley Hoopers (Penn State alumni) on Aug. 2 in Philadelphia.
(6) Eberlein Drive and (5) Happy Valley Hoopers (Penn State alumni) square off in the first Quarterfinal match in Fertitta Center at 6 p.m., Tuesday, with Forever Coogs-Team Colorado to follow shortly after.
Guard Rob Gray leads Forever Coogs with 19.7 points per game while forward Justin Gorham is tops with 8.3 rebounds per contest. Forward Devin Davis is a close second with 8.0 boards per contest.

ABOUT FOREVER COOGS
Forever Coogs' roster consists of nine award-winning Houston alumni under Head Coach Lawrence Paye (2011-12) and Assistant Coach LeRon Barnes (2011-16).
Forever Coogs include guards Rob Gray (2015-18), DeJon Jarreau (2018-21), Eric Weary Jr. (2014-16) and Wes VanBeck (2014-18) with forwards Fabian White Jr. (2017-22), Justin Gorham (2018-21), Devonta Pollard (2014-16), TaShawn Thomas (2011-14) and Devin Davis (2016-18).
Melvin Frazier Jr. (Tulane), Shawndre Jones (Richmond) and Jahshire Hardnett (BYU/UMKC) also will compete for Forever Coogs.
Former Director of Operations Meshu Negga (2014-21) is serving as general manager while current video coordinator Matthew McDonald (2022 – ) works as assistant general manager/assistant coach
