SecsA total of 76 current or former Cougars from 23 different countries have participated in the Olympics. Houston has had at least one representative in each of the last 18 Summer Games. The largest contingent of Cougars to participate in a single Olympics was 22 in 1984.
Cougars have collected a total of 41 medals all-time, including 20 golds, 13 silver and eight bronze. UH's most decorated Olympian is Carl Lewis, who won 10 total medals (nine golds, one bronze) from 1984-96 for the United States in track and field. Twenty-four student-athletes have represented the United States at the Olympics.
