Cougars play regular-season home finale before heading to Huntsville for a battle with Sam Houston
HOUSTON – The University of Houston Softball team wraps up its regular-season home schedule with a three-game series against Texas Tech before traveling to Huntsville, Texas, for a midweek battle against Sam Houston on Tuesday. This weekend's slate against the Red Raiders also marks the team's senior weekend.
Across the weekend, Houston will recognize eight seniors: Amanda Carden, Katy Repa, Paige Hulsey, Kennedy Thomas, Shelby Smith, Jazmyn Rollin, Bree Cantu and Taylor Edwards. Prior to Saturday's game, the Cougars will honor Repa, Carden, Hulsey and Edwards while Smith, Cantu, Rollin and Kennedy Thomas will be distinguished before Sunday's contest.
The first 100 fans on Friday will receive a free pretzel while Saturday's game concludes the team's $10 Triple Play Saturdays, where fans can get a ticket, water and hot dog for just $10 (not available on gamedays).

FIRST PITCH
- The Cougars won their first Big 12 game in style, sealing the team's highest ranked win in program history with a 12-10 win over No. 2 Texas on March 8. The victory also continued Head Coach Kristin Vesely's streak of seasons with a win over a ranked opponent.
- Houston's 94 runs tied the program record for most runs through the first 11 games, originally set in 2014.
- The Cougars' 297 runs scored have surpassed the program's season totals from all but four seasons: 2014, 2013, 2012 and 2008. They're within 14 runs of three of those seasons and 75 runs away from the record.
- The team posted its best 11 game start (10-1) since 2008 when the program went 11-0. At 15-5, the team earned its best 20 game start since 2020 (16-4).
- Houston broke its single-season sacrifice flies record that it set last season, posting 23 this season. Bree Cantu leads the team with 5, which ranks 11th in the country and third in the Big 12.
- The Cougars rank 13th nationally in walks drawn (178), 18th in scoring (6.32) and 21st in on-base percentage (.406).
- Kennedy Thomas is three runs away from tying the team's senior runs scored record (Haley Outon's 47 in 2014).
- Houston has hit four grand slams this season, bringing the program's historic total to 52.
