Cougars tip off at 8 p.m., Monday, inside Fertitta Center in second meeting against Cyclones in 2023-24
Fans should note Monday's 8 p.m., tipoff time and broadcasting network . The game time and network were changed last week from earlier published schedules.
Houston enters Monday's showdown following an 82-61 win over rv/– Texas inside Fertitta Center on Saturday afternoon. The win gave the Cougars their first regular-season series sweep of the Longhorns since the 1992-93 season and extended the team's home winning streak to 19 straight games, tying for the nation's longest active streak.
Senior guard LJ Cryer led all players with 26 points on 9-of-13 shooting, including 6-of-9 from behind the arc while senior point guard Jamal Shead flirted with a quadruple-double with 16 points, career-high 11 rebounds, six assists and six steals.
With his performance against Texas, Shead moved past two milestones in his Houston career. The Manor, Texas native became only the fourth student-athlete in program history to dish out 600+ assists and became the seventh Cougar with 200+ steals during his career.
Shead is the only player in program history record 100+ wins, 1,100 points, 600+ assists and 200+ steals during his career.
