Wilson Runs to Victory in Albuquerque

Wilson, Thompson advance to finals and place first and sixth in 60-meter hurdles
ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. – The University of Houston Track and Field program closed weekend action with senior hurdler De'Vion Wilson winning the 60-meter hurdles at the Don Kirby Invitational at the Albuquerque Convention Center on Saturday.
Wilson won his heat in prelims with a time of 7.79 to advance to the 60-meter hurdles final. Wilson then shaved off 0.05 seconds to win the event with a time of 7.74. This marks Wilson's third-straight victory in the event this season.
On the women's side, junior hurdler Miracle Thompson also saw action in the 60-meter hurdles. Thompson won her heat by posting a time of 8.40 in the prelims to move on to the final, where she ran an 8.37 to finish sixth overall.

Houston will have one final meet weekend before the Big 12 Indoor Championships as it splits squads at the Air Force Last Chance at USAF Academy, Colo., and the LSU Twilight meet in Baton Rouge, La.., on Friday.
