Flowers Posts Personal Best at Wake Forest Invitational

Junior Patrick Flowers wins section 2 of the men’s 3000-meter steeplechase on Thursday
WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. and WALNUT, Calif. – Junior Patrick Flowers delivered a standout performance, winning the men's 3000-meter steeplechase at the Wake Forest Invitational at Kentner Stadium on Thursday evening.

Flowers recorded a personal best time of 8:51.96 to win Section 2 of the men's 3000-meter steeplechase. He lowered his personal best by 13.33 seconds, moving from ninth to fifth on Houston's all-time performance list. Â

Meanwhile, the women's 800-meter invite saw sophomore Invida Maurina finish fourth in section 2, clocking a time of 2:05.57.

At Mt. SAC Relays, graduate Grant Levesque opened the decathlon, but had to withdraw from the competition.
UP NEXT
The Cougars return to the Carl Lewis International Complex for the Tom Tellez Alumni Invitational on Friday and Saturday. Alums are invited to attend the meet with alumni day activities set for Saturday. The alum tent will open at 11:30 a.m. Field events are scheduled to begin at 10:30 a.m. and running events will begin at 12:30 p.m.
