
PREVIEW: Volleyball Debuts Houston Blue Against Texas Tech

Cougars will wear their brand new Houston Blue jerseys as Red Raiders visit Fertitta Center
HOUSTON – The University of Houston Volleyball team unveils its Houston Blue jerseys for the first time on the court as Texas Tech visits Fertitta Center for a 2 p.m., Saturday, first serve.
Houston Athletics debuted the Houston Blue colors earlier this month as part of a homage to the City of Houston. Volleyball is the first team to wear the new Houston Blue jerseys, with Football joining in during their Senior Day game against Baylor on Nov. 23.
Fans will have the opportunity to purchase Houston Blue gear, already available online and at a variety of retail outlets, at the match. Complimentary blue cheer cards will also be handed out.
The match is also the team's Dads and Daughters Match as well as Princess Day. Fans can take advantage of the Dads and Daughters ticket package, which includes two tickets, two hot dogs and two drinks for just $20. There will also be a Princess Day photobooth as well as a tiara making station.
Fans who arrive early will receive Houston Volleyball car magnets and the team will be available for postmatch autographs.

Her 4.71 digs per set average is ninth among active NCAA Division I players, leading the Big 12 while ranking second in Texas.
- Houston faces one of the toughest schedules in the country with nine of its opponents currently ranked in the AVCA Top 25.
- Freshman Lily Barron ranks 20th in the nation and first in the Big 12 with 0.50 aces per set.
- This is the first of two meetings between Houston and Texas Tech this season. Houston swept the season series last year, winning both matches in Lubbock, Texas.
- Georgiades earned her fourth career Big 12 Defensive Player of the Week honor this week. She tallied 31 digs in a four-set win over Cincinnati last Friday. It was her 120th career match in double-figures and eighth match with 30-or-more digs.
