
Soccer Hosts West Virginia on Alumni Day

Houston set to face West Virginia at 1 p.m., Sunday
HOUSTON – The University of Houston Soccer program returns to the Carl Lewis International Complex for Big 12 Conference action against West Virginia at 1 p.m., Sunday for Alumni Day.
The game will be streamed on Big 12 Now on ESPN+ with Matt Pedersen (play-by-play), Alex Parra (analyst) and Alexx Holmes (sideline) calling the action. Live stats will be available here.
ABOUT THE COUGARS
· Houston is in its second season under Head Coach Jaime Frias.
· The Cougars are 6-5-1 on the season and 0-4 in conference play.
· Houston fell 2-1 against Iowa State on Thursday in Ames, Iowa. Freshman midfielder Aryanna Jimison scored the lone goal of the match for the Cougars.
· Sophomore forward Cameryn Maddox leads Houston with seven goals.
· Junior midfielder Juliet Moore leads the team with five assists.
SCOUTING WEST VIRGINIA
· West Virginia is in its 28th season under Head Coach Nikki Izzo-Brown.
· The Mountaineers are 3-6-3 on the season and 1-2-1 in conference play.
· Sophomore forward Taylor White leads West Virginia with five goals.
· Junior forward Dilary Heredia-Beltran leads the team with four assists.
· In its last match, West Virginia earned a 0-0 draw against #21 Texas on Thursday in Austin, Texas.
· The Mountaineers claimed the 2022 Big 12 Tournament title with a 1-0, double over-time win against TCU (Nov. 6, 2022)
· West Virginia fell in the Second Round of the NCAA Tournament with a 4-0 loss against Penn State (Nov. 18, 2022).

· This marks the first time in program history that Houston faces West Virginia.

Houston will embark on a three-match road swing as it faces Kansas State (Oct. 5), Kansas (Oct. 8) and TCU (Oct. 12).
The Cougars then will return to the Carl Lewis International Complex for their Go Pink for the Cure game against Texas (Oct. 15) and will close out the regular season against Baylor (Oct. 23).

Current University of Houston students may claim one ticket at no cost to all home soccer matches. Students can claim their tickets by presenting their valid UH student IDs at the gate.
Single-game tickets are now available to purchase for $10 per match. Season tickets are also available to purchase for only $42 with family plans (four season tickets) starting at $100.
Mobile tickets can also be purchased at game time at the ticket booth located at Schroeder Park (baseball), adjacent to the Carl Lewis International Complex.
