Soccer Drops Big 12 Conference Opener Against rv Texas Tech, 3-0

Houston set to host UCF for conference home opener on Thursday
LUBBOCK, Texas– Falling for the first time on the road this season, the University of Houston Soccer program dropped its Big 12 Conference opener to rv Texas Tech, 3-0, on Thursday evening at the John Walker Soccer Complex.
Houston (6-2-1, 0-1 Big 12) produced eight shots with three on goal. Freshman midfielder Aryanna Jimison recorded three shots and Jaden Masters posted two shots on frame.
Texas Tech (7-0-2, 1-0 Big 12) had an aggressive start as it applied pressure up top and created several scoring opportunities early. Alex Kerr scored the first goal of the game in the 13th minute as the Red Raiders took a 1-0 lead.
After half, the Red Raiders' Jillian Martinez found the second score of the match in the 53rd minute as the forward ripped a shot outside the 18-yard box for the 2-0 lead.
While the Cougars continued to apply pressure, Texas Tech scored its third and final goal of the evening from Kerr in the 83rd minute.
UP NEXT
Houston will return to the Carl Lewis International Complex at 7 p.m., Thursday, as it hosts UCF for its Big 12 home opener.
The Cougars then will host Oklahoma at 1 p.m., Sunday Sept. 24, for Houston Youth Soccer Day.
TICKETS
Students can claim one ticket at no cost to all home soccer matches. Students can claim their tickets by presenting their student IDs at the gate.
Single game tickets are now available to purchase for $10 per match. Season tickets are also still available to purchase for only $42 with family plans (four season tickets) starting at $100.
Mobile tickets can also be purchased at game time at the ticket booth located at Schroeder Park (baseball), adjacent to the Carl Lewis International Complex.
