Transfer from Oklahoma will compete as a sophomore in 2023-24 with three years of eligibility
HOUSTON – After recently signing a scholarship agreement, Oklahoma transfer Hudson Weibel will join the University of Houston Men's Golf program for the 2023-24 season, Director of Golf Jonathan Dismuke announced Thursday.
Weibel – whose last name is pronounced Why-Bul – competed for his first two collegiate seasons at Oklahoma before transferring to Houston. He will have three years of eligibility remaining.
"Hudson had a tremendous career as a junior golfer, and we are excited to have him join our program," Dismuke said. "He will add depth to an already deep team and will be a guy that contributes for us."
In his first collegiate season, the Dallas native sat out as a redshirt at Oklahoma during the 2021-22 season and did not compete in any tournaments as a redshirt freshman in 2022-23.
He was a star at Highland Park High School, totaling 10 wins as a prep student-athlete. Weibel earned 19 Top-Three finishes during his junior career and led the Scots to the 2021 Class 5A UIL state championship.
Weibel was a two-time All-State First-Team selection and won the 2020 Lanny Wadkins Cup. Off the course, he was a member of the National Honor Society.
