Women’s Golf Reveals 2023-24 Schedule

Cougars slated to play four fall events with five regular-season spring tournaments, including ICON Invitational at Golf Club of Houston on Feb. 26-27
HOUSTON – The University of Houston Women's Golf program will play nine regular-season tournaments, including the ICON Invitational on Feb. 26-27 at Golf Club of Houston, during its 2023-24 schedule, Carolyn Macow Leatherwood Head Coach Lydia Gumm announced Friday.
The 2023-24 schedule features tournaments in two nations and five states, and, for the first time in school history, the Cougars will compete as a member of the Big 12 Conference.
FALL SEASON
The 2023-24 season tees off when the Cougars compete at the Sam Golden Invitational at Oakmont Country Club in Corinth, Texas, on Sept. 11-12.
From there, Houston will play at the Schooner Fall Classic at Belmar Golf Club in Norman, Okla., on Sept. 23-25. A year ago, Natalie Saint Germain set a program record low with a bogey-free 64 at this event.
Following the Illini Invitational at Medinah at Medinah Country Club in Illinois on Oct. 9-10, the Cougars close the fall season at the Jim West Challenge on Oct. 20-22 at Kissing Tree Golf Club in San Marcos, Texas.
Sophomore and 2023 All-American Athletic Conference performer Moa Svedenskiold became the youngest tournament winner in school history a year ago, winning the 2022 Jim West Challenge in only her third collegiate event.
SPRING SEASON
Following the holiday break, the Cougars open the spring campaign when they compete at the Nexus Collegiate on Feb. 12-14 at Albany Golf Club in Nassau, Bahamas.
From there, Houston will play host to the ICON Invitational at Golf Club of Houston in Humble, Texas, on Feb. 26-27. The Cougars welcome an elite field to their annual event, including Furman, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa State, Maryland, North Texas, Oklahoma State, SMU, TCU, Tennessee, Texas A&M, Texas State, Texas Tech, Tulsa, UNLV and UTSA.
The Cougars head west for a pair of tournaments in March, including The Show at Spanish Trail Country Club in Las Vegas on March 4-5 and the MountainView Collegiate at Mountainview Country Club in Tucson, Ariz., on March 15-17.
Houston closes the regular season at the Big 12 Match Play Tournament at Jimmie Austin OU Golf Club on April 8-10.
THE POSTSEASON
The Cougars will compete in their first Big 12 Championships when they open play at The Clubs at Houston Oaks in Hockley, Texas, on April 18-20.
From there, the team looks to compete in NCAA Regional play for the eighth time in school history.
The 2024 NCAA Regional sites include: Auburn University Club (Auburn, Ala., hosted by Auburn); Tumble Creek Club (Cle Elum, Wash., hosted by Washington); Traditions Club (Bryan-College Station, Texas, hosted by Texas A&M); Forest Akers Golf Course (East Lansing, Mich., hosted by Michigan State); Spanish Trail Country Club (Las Vegas, Nev., hosted by UNLV) and East Course – Bermuda Run Country Club (Winston-Salem, N.C., hosted by Wake Forest).
The top teams from each NCAA Regional will compete at the NCAA Championships, set for May 17-22, at Omni La Costa Resort and Spa in Carlsbad, Calif.
