Swimming & Diving Named CSCAA Scholar All-America Team; Seven Earn Individual Scholar All-America Honors

Cougars earn academic accolades for 15th straight semester; seven named to Individual Scholar All-America Second Team
HOUSTON – The University of Houston Swimming & Diving program earned College Swimming and Diving Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) Scholar All-America Team honors with seven Cougars picking up Individual Scholar All-America Second Team honors for the Spring 2023 semester, the organization recently announced.Chase Farris, Hedda Grelz, Landry Hadder, Eden Humphrey, Abby Jackson, Audrey McKinnon and Emilia Waters were recognized Second Team Scholar All-Americans.  Â
SCHOLAR ALL-AMERICA TEAM
For the 15th consecutive semester and fourth semester under Head Coach Tanica Jamison, the Cougars received Scholar All-America Team honors after compiling a 3.46 grade point average during the spring semester.Â

INDIVIDUAL SCHOLAR ALL-AMERICA

The CSCAA named 721 Division I Scholar All-Americans for the 2022-23 season, including seven members of the Houston Swimming & Diving program. Farris (Psychology), Grelz (Mechanical Engineering) and Waters (English) picked up Individual Scholar All-American Second-Team honors for a second consecutive year.

Hadder (Biology), Humphrey (Journalism), Jackson (Biomedical Engineering) and McKinnon (Political Science) were recognized for the first time in their careers.

To be named to the First-Team Scholar All-America, student-athletes must achieve a minimum GPA of 3.50 and participate in their respective national championship. Second-Team selections also earned a GPA of 3.50 of higher and met the "B" time standard for the national championship or participated in a diving zone qualification meet.
