Houston plays first home game in over a month with midweek doubleheader
HOUSTON – The University of Houston softball team returns to the Cougar Softball Stadium for the first time in over a month for a doubleheader against Stephen F. Austin on Tuesday.
First pitch in game one is scheduled for 4 p.m., with game two slated for a 6:30 p.m. first pitch.

THE SERIES

- Turiya Coleman enters the weekend with multiple stats among the best in the NCAA. Nationally, she ranks 24th in hits (43), 33rd in batting average (.439), 43rd in total bases (70) and 48th in on-base percentage (.509). Kenna Wilkey also ranks near the top at 47th in strikeouts (94) and 47th in victories (10).

- The Cougars boast one of the tougher nonconference schedules in the conference. Houston's nonconference slate was ranked as the 32nd toughest, only behind UCF in the conference.
- Houston plays 16 home games and no away games in the month of February, followed by 16 neutral site/away games and no home games in March. Houston is the only known school to have played its opening month at its home stadium, followed by an entire month away from it.
- The Cougars are playing their last season in The American prior to joining the Big 12 Conference next season.
- Kenna Wilkey picked up a pair of preseason honors, being named the preseason American Athletic Conference Pitcher of the Year by both D1Softball and Extra Innings Softball.
