Texas A&M uses three-run ninth to break open one-run game

Junior right-hander Josh Ekness (1-2) made his first start of the season for the Cougars (5-11), striking out four while allowing two earned runs across a season-high 6.2 innings. Down two runs heading into the fifth inning, senior right fielder Brandon Uhse's single grounded through infield and brought outfielder senior infielder Ian McMillan home for the Cougars' only run of the game. Holding a 2-1 lead late through eight innings, the Aggies (13-4) tacked on three runs in the ninth.

5th | In the bottom of the fifth inning, McMillan slapped a double down the right field line to spark momentum for the Cougars. Two pitches later, Uhse singled up the middle to plate McMillan and cut the deficit in half at 2-1.

7th | With a runner in scoring position, Brendan O'Donnell entered the game and secured the final out on three pitches to strand a runner and hold the deficit to one run at 2-1.
