Tennis Heads to Louisiana for Two Matches

Cougars look to extend four-match win streak
LAFAYETTE, La. – The University of Houston Tennis program will close out its February road slate where it will face Nicholls on Saturday and Louisiana on Sunday from the Red Lerille's Health & Racquet Club on the campus of Louisiana.
The first match is set to take place against Nicholls at noon, Saturday, followed by Louisiana at 11 a.m., Sunday. Fans can follow live stats against Louisiana by clicking here.
The Cougars (5-3), winners of four straight, are coming off a successful weekend defeating Stephen F. Austin, 7-0, on Sunday. Doubles pair Elena Trencheva and Sophie Schouten earned their fourth straight doubles match of the season after defeating Stephen F. Austin's Alkmini Giannakogiorgou/Jemma Cave, 6-1. Schouten's success continued in singles, picking up her fifth victory of the season after knocking off Carolina Chiatti, 6-4, 6-2.
SCOUTING THE COLONELS
- Nicholls is in its seventh season under Head Coach Greg Harkins.
- The Colonels are 3-2 on the season.
- This will be the first time in program history that Houston faces Nicholls.
- Louisiana is entering its eighth season under Head Coach Stephanie Vallejos.
- The Ragin' Cajuns are 2-2 on the season.
- The Cougars own the all-time series, 3-0.
- The last time Houston and Louisiana met, the Cougars claimed a 4-0 decision (Feb. 27, 2021).
