Cougars host Lady Raiders at 1 p.m., in Big 12 Conference opener
HOUSTON– A new era begins inside Fertitta Center at 1 p.m., Saturday as the University of Houston Women's Basketball program opens its inaugural Big 12 Conference slate against Texas Tech.
Fans in attendance can enjoy a special raffle with a chance to win prizes throughout the game on Saturday. Fans with a ticket to Houston Men's Basketball's 6 p.m., game against Penn can enter the women's basketball game for free by presenting their ticket stub at the ticket office.

THE GAME
- Houston opens its inaugural Big 12 Conference slate against Texas Tech on Saturday inside Fertitta Center.
- The Cougars and Lady Raiders meet for the 53rd time in program history.
- Texas Tech leads the all-time series, 14-39.
- Head Coaches Ronald Hughey and Krista Gerlich meet for the third time in their careers; first at the helm of their current programs.
- In their last meeting against the Lady Raiders, the Cougars earned a 79-75 victory at HP&E Arena (Dec. 3, 2017).
- This marks the second time Houston and Texas Tech face each other as league foes (1980-1996, Southwest Conference).
- Senior guard Laila Blair's 26 points led the Cougars to a 71-63 overtime victory in its non-conference finale over crosstown rival Rice at Fertitta Center (Dec. 20, 2023).
