Houston Set to Host New Orleans on Sunday

HOUSTON– On a three-game win streak, the University of Houston women's basketball welcomes New Orleans to Fertitta Center at 2 p.m., Sunday, for its Pediatric Cancer Awareness game.

Fans who donate towards the fight against Pediatric Cancer or who donate a toy towards the toy drive, will receive free admission into the match on Sunday. Kids 12 and under will have the opportunity to receive free player trading cards while supplies last.

THE GAME

This is the first meeting between Houston and New Orleans since 2017 and just the second-all time meeting.
This marks the first meeting between Head Coaches Ronald Hughey and Trelanne Powell.
Laila Blair has scored double-digits in the first three games of the season.

LAST TIME OUT

In its first meeting between the two programs, Houston defeated Grambling State, 106-74 inside Fertitta Center last Sunday.
The victory marked the third time in program history that the Cougars have scored 100+ points in back-to-back games since the 2004-05 season.
Junior forward Maliyah Johnson posted a career-high 24 points and four assists against the Tigers.
Senior forward Kamryn Jones recorded her first career three-pointer against Grambling State.
Four Cougars scored in double-figures (Johnson, 24; Blair, 19; Boyd, 13; Jones, 10).

Houston looks for its best start since the 2010-11 season with a win against New Orleans.
Houston ranks first nationally and first in the Big 12 Conference for points per game (103.7) and steals (20.0).
Both Britney Onyeje (178) and Laila Blair (151) have their eyes set on the Houston all-time three-pointers made record of 226 set by Brittney Scott (2007-11).
Graduate guard N'Yah Boyd (957) is 43 points away from reaching 1,000 career points.
