Farris Named Big 12 Conference Diver of the Week

Farris earned two first-place finishes and another podium to be named top diver at Houston Diving Invitational
HOUSTON – University of Houston Swimming & Diving's Chase Farris captured the team's second Big 12 Conference honors in as many weeks, collecting her first Diver of the Week accolade of the season.Â
Farris dominated at the Houston Diving Invitational, earning podiums in all three of the individual events while helping her team to a second-place finish in the team event. She also finished as the meet's top diver.Â
The fifth-year began the meet with a first-place showing in the 1-meter, posting a 308.30, a new season-high in the event. She closed competition on Friday by earning second place in the 3-meter event with a 310.20.
On Saturday, Farris took first place in her first platform competition of the year, also earning an NCAA Zone Cut with a 247.20. She now has NCAA Zone Cuts in all three diving events. She also worked with Josie Graves and Emilia Waters to take second place in the team event with a score of 287.15.Â
UP NEXT
Following a three week break from competition, Houston Swimming & Diving returns to action on Nov. 4 in New Orleans with a dual meet against Tulane.
