Cougars tip off vs. Green Wave at 6 p.m., inside Devlin Fieldhouse
NEW ORLEANS – Winners of its last eight games, the #1/1 University of Houston Men's Basketball program meets American Athletic Conference rival Tulane at 6 p.m., Tuesday, inside Devlin Fieldhouse in New Orleans.
Tuesday's game features the Top Two teams in the American Athletic Conference. Houston leads the league with a 5-0 mark while the Green Wave are a half-game back at 5-1
The Cougars should enter Tuesday's game rested more than usual. Houston played one game last week, taking an 83-77 win over South Florida inside the Fertitta Center on Wednesday, behind senior guard Marcus Sasser's career-high 31 points.
For his impressive efforts, Sasser was named to The American Honor Roll for the third time in 2022-23.
With his recent performance, Sasser leads the Cougars and is tied for fifth in the league with 16.6 points per game. The Dallas native also moved into 31st in Houston career history with 1,153 points and needs 10 more points to stand among the Cougars' Top-30 leaders.
Tuesday's game will be the first of two regular-season meetings against the Green Wave. The Green Wave visit the Fertitta Center in Houston on Feb. 22.
