Cougars Prepare For Sunday Match Against Rice

Houston looks to pick up first home win of the season
HOUSTON – The University of Houston Soccer program will continue its two-match home stand at the Carl Lewis International Complex at 7 p.m., Sunday against Rice for Houston Youth Day.
All kids (12 and under) will receive free admission with their youth jerseys as well as free popsicles. Fans are invited to stick around after the game for an autograph signing with select Houston Soccer student-athletes.
The game will be streamed on ESPN+ with Matt Pedersen and Andrew Driver calling the action. Live stats will also be available here.
Students will now be able to claim two tickets at no cost to all home soccer matches. Students can claim their tickets by presenting their student IDs at the gate.
Fans can purchase single-game tickets by clicking here or by visiting the ticket office. Mobile tickets can also be purchased at game time at the ticket booth located at Schroeder Park (baseball), adjacent to the Carl Lewis International Complex.
ABOUT THE COUGARS
· Houston is in its first season under Head Coach Jaime Frias.
· The Cougars are 1-2-1 on the season.
· In its last match, Houston fell to Baylor, 3-0 on Thursday for its home opener.
· In the last meeting against the Owls, the Cougars fell in a 1-0 decision (Sept. 9, 2021) at Holloway Field on the campus of Rice.
SCOUTING THE OWLS
· Rice is in its fourth season under Head Coach Brian Lee.
· The Owls are 2-3 on the season.
· In its last match, Rice defeated Houston Baptist in a 1-0 decision on Sunday at Holloway Field with Madison Kent scoring the lone goal of the match.
· The Owls lead the all-time series, 9-4-3.
