Transfer from Kansas will have three years of eligibility remaining starting in 2022-23
HOUSTON – Wolfgang Glawe has joined the University of Houston Men's Golf program after recently signing a scholarship agreement, Director of Golf Jonathan Dismuke announced Wednesday.
Measuring 6-foot-2 and weighing 180 pounds, Glawe competed as a freshman at Kansas in 2021-22 before transferring to Houston. The St. Leon-Rot, Germany, native will have three years of eligibility remaining.
"Wolfgang is part of one of the best European golf federations and is personally coached by Ted Long, who has developed a lot of collegiate and professional players," Dismuke said. "Wolfgang is the ultimate team guy. He has a great personality with a great game, and he will really flourish within our program."
As a freshman at Kansas, Glawe competed in two tournaments. He tied for 13th with a score of 2-under 214, thanks to a Second-Round 70, at the Minnesota Classic during the fall and tied for 29th at The Prestige.
Prior to joining the collegiate ranks, Glawe was an award-winning junior player. He represented Germany on the National Boys Team in 2019 and 2020 and competed for the German National Team in 2021. Glawe was also ranked No. 2 in Germany in the 18-under division and at No. 20 in the Europe 18-under division.
He finished 29th at the 2021 European Amateur Championship after shooting three straight rounds of par or lower, including a 68 in the Second Round.
Glawe tied for 18th at the 2020 German National Amateur Championship and finished 11th at the SLR Academy Invitational. He also took 13th at the GTGA Invitational with a Final-Round 65 in July 2020.
Glawe finished second at the Golfsportmanufaktur Schafflertanz International with a score of 210, including a First-Round 68.
