Final Conference Series Pits Cougars, Bulls

TAMPA, Fla. − The final regular season road trip of 2022 sends the University of Houston softball team to South Florida for a three-game series Friday-Sunday.

FIRST PITCH

Houston ends its conference slate at South Florida.
UH will watch the final weekend of conference game from home as the team closes out its conference schedule against the Bulls.
The Cougar have turned 25 double plays in 2022, second-most in the country.
Houston has downed two ranked opponents in 2022 and has beaten a ranked opponent each of the last seven seasons and every year under Vesely.
Houston put together a six-run comeback against #18 UCF on Sunday, the largest comeback since 2018.
Becca Schulte is on a 16-game on-base streak.
For the first time since joining The American, the Cougars swept the weekly awards April 11. Bethany Busch was named Player of the Week and Kenna Wilkey was named Pitcher of the Week.
Paige Hulsey tied a school record for stolen bases with a perfect 4-for-4 on stolen base attempts against Memphis on April 3.
Hannah Todd became the first pitcher to win all three games of a series in program history winning all three games against Memphis.
Becca Schulte hit a home run in the final game of 2020, did not play in 2021, and hit a home run in her first at-bat of 2022. Thus, Schulte hit a home run in back-to-back games spanning 23 months.
Graduate student Becca Schulte is competing in her seventh season as a collegiate athlete. Schulte graduated high school in 2015. She is one of two known 7th-year softball players in the DI ranks.
Houston will face four Preseason Top 25 teams in 2022, including three teams in the Top 10 of D1Softball's preseason poll.
The Cougars play 10 teams that made a regional in 2021 and seven Power 5 opponents in 2022, facing those seven teams a total of 11 total times.
