Senior accepts invitation to play at NCAA Franklin Regional in Tennessee on May 9-11
HOUSTON – University of Houston senior Annie Kim will compete as an individual in the NCAA postseason after accepting an invitation to the NCAA Franklin Regional.
Kim tees off at the NCAA Franklin Regional at Vanderbilt Legends Club on May 9-11 with 18 holes to be played each day. The top-four teams and top-two individuals not on a participating team advance to compete at the NCAA Championships, set for May 20-25 at Grayhawk Golf Club in Scottsdale, Ariz.
She replaced East Tennessee State's Sera Hasegawa, who was unable to compete at the Regional.
While this will be the first time Kim competes in an NCAA Regional, it will be her second postseason appearance. Kim and her Cougar teammates were scheduled to compete at the 2021 NCAA Baton Rouge Regional, but rain forced the cancellation of that event without a shot being played.
This marks the seventh season in which Houston will be represented in the NCAA postseason, The Cougars competed as a team in six consecutive years from 2015-21 with the 2020 Regionals being canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Kim was one of 36 individual participants to be selected for NCAA Regional play at six NCAA Regionals across the country.
