BROOKSVILLE, Fla. – The University of Houston Men's Golf program used a strong surge at the end to move to within one shot of the leader following the Second Round of the American Athletic Conference Championships at Southern Hills Golf Club on Saturday afternoon.
Overcoming a slow start that saw them 7-over through the first four holes, the Cougars played the final five holes at 10-under as a team to close the deficit on the 7,274-yard, par-72 layout.
Houston finished with a team score of 282 in Saturday's action and posted a total of 16-under 560 to finish one shot behind No. 43 SMU.
