Houston Divers Compete in Day 2 of NCAA Diving Zones

Four Cougars round out top-30 in preliminary action
MADISON, Wisc. – Katie Deininger, Chase Farris, Josie Graves, Hedda Grelz and Emilia Waters competed on Tuesday in the 3-Meter at the 2022 NCAA Zone D Championships at the Soderhold Aquatic Center on the campus of University of Wisconsin.

In preliminary action, Houston had four divers finish in the top-30 of the event. Making her third consecutive appearance at the Zone D Diving Championships, Farris finished 21st (285.30), 4.35 points away from qualifying for finals. Grelz placed 25th with 272.50 points.

Graves, a freshman, made her 2022 NCAA Zone D Championships debut placing 27th with 266.80 points, and Waters finished in 30th with 259.55 points. Deininger completed the day for the Cougars, placing 33rd with 254.20 points.

Meet action concludes Wednesday at 11 a.m. at the Platform with Blodgett, Farris and Graves returning to action. The top 18 divers move on to finals and scores will carry over. The meet will be streamed here and live results can be accessed by clicking here.

The top-nine finishers in the Platform will advance to the 2022 NCAA Division I Swimming & Diving Championships, March 16-19 in Atlanta at Georgia Tech's McAuley Aquatic Center.
