Houston Swimmer Sets New Romanian Record

Henrietta Fangli earns first place in three events
BACĂU, Romania – University of Houston Swimmer Henrietta Fangli wrapped up action at the 2022 Romanian National Swimming Championship for Seniors, Youth and Juniors held in Bacău, Romania this week. Fangli earned three first-place podium finishes, including setting a new Romanian record in the 100-meter Breaststroke.
On Wednesday, the freshman earned first place in the 50-meter Breaststroke with a final time of 30.69. In her second event of the day, Fangli earned seventh place in the 200 meters individual medley with a mark of 2:25.71.
Fangli's success continued on Thursday in the 100-meter Breaststroke, where she earned first place with a mark of 1:09.81, breaking a 20-year record previously set in June 2001 by Beatrice Câșlaru (1:10.14).
Fangli wrapped up action on Friday in the 200-meter Breaststroke where she earned a mark of 2:33.60, earning her third first place title of the week.
