Cougars tip off vs. Green Wave at 7 p.m., Wednesday, inside Fogelman Arena at Devlin Fieldhouse
NEW ORLEANS – Fresh off a thrilling win, the University of Houston Men's Basketball program returns to action when it meets American Athletic Conference rival Tulane at 7 p.m., Wednesday, inside Fogelman Arena in Devlin Fieldhouse.
#14/15 Houston enters its penultimate regular-season road game following an exciting double-overtime win at Wichita State on Sunday afternoon. In a game that went back and forth, the Cougars had the final word when sophomore point guard Jamal Shead fed sophomore forward J'Wan Roberts for a dunk with 1.8 seconds remaining in the second extra period to break a 74-74 tie and lift the Cougars to the win.
Shead finished with 13 points, seven rebounds and a game-high nine rebounds. Graduate forward Josh Carlton scored 11 of his game-high 23 points in the overtime periods and added 11 rebounds for his team-leading fourth double-double of the season.
Senior guard Kyler Edwards added 11 points with 10 rebounds and four assists for his third double-double of the season. The Arlington, Texas, native leads the available Cougars with 13.6 points per game and stands second on the team with 6.0 rebounds per contest.
Edwards is one of only three players to rank among The American's Top-11 leaders in both scoring and rebounding.

With Monday's release, the Cougars were ranked in the Associated Press poll for the 42nd consecutive week, extending their school record. Houston has been ranked in every AP poll since Jan. 20, 2019.
This is the fifth straight season under Sampson in which the Cougars were ranked for at least one week. Houston finished at No. 6 in the final AP and at No. 3 in the final Ferris Mowers Coaches polls a year ago after advancing to the sixth NCAA Final Four in school history.
