Cougars defeated by Crimson Tide, look to Sunday doubleheader
HOUSTON – The University of Houston Tennis program competed in Tuscaloosa on Friday in its second consecutive road trip in two weeks. The Cougars fell to the Crimson Tide, 1-6.
In doubles competition, two of Houston's pairs put up a strong fight but fell to the Alabama pairings. This left the third match unfinished.
The Cougars earned their one point of the match when Maria Dzemeshkevich defeated No. 101 nationally ranked Loudmilla Bencheikh. She completed her match against Bencheikh with scores of 7-5, 7-6 (7-5)
Houston will return home on Sunday for a doubleheader at the Barbara Wallace Winston Tennis Facility.
