Cougars Fall to Horned Frogs in Fort Worth

Houston looks to Friday for redemption in Colorado
HOUSTON – Houston Tennis fell to TCU, 4-0 in Fort Worth at the Bayard H. Friedman Tennis Center on Tuesday.
The Cougars put up a tough fight in doubles competition with the third match needed for the tie-breaking point. First to finish on Court 1, the team of Azul Pedemonti and Maria Dzemeshkevich defeated TCU's Aleksa Cveticanin and Stevie Kennedy, 6-2. On Court 3, the next point went to the Horned Frogs as Houston's Elena Trencheva and Sophie Gerits fell to Isabel Pascual and Addy Guevara. The deciding point was left up to the game on Court 2 which was given to TCU after the pair of Blanca Cortijo and Laura Slisane fell to Jade Otway and Alisa Soloveva.
After the unfortunate loss of the doubles' point, Houston looked to singles play to hopefully gain points on the board. The Cougars were able to fight for those points but fell in each of the matchups. Three of the singles' games were left unfinished with three wins for the Horned Frogs clinched the match for the home team.

Houston sets its sights on Friday where it will travel to Boulder, Co. to take on the Buffs of the University of Colorado for a 1 p.m. match.
The following Friday, the Cougars will find themselves in Tuscaloosa to battle against the University of Alabama for a 5 p.m. match.
Houston will then return home for a double-header on Sunday Feb. 13 against Southern University and Prairie View A&M. The first match will begin at 10 a.m. with the second beginning at 1 p.m.
