Volleyball Earns Five Seed in NCAA Tournament

Cougars will head to Omaha, Neb. to battle South Dakota in the first round
HOUSTON – The #22 University of Houston volleyball team received a five-seed in this year's NCAA tournament and was placed in the Creighton Regional. It's the team's first trip to the NCAA Tournament since 2000.
The Cougars will play South Dakota in the first round on Friday at 3:30 p.m. CT. The winner will go on to face the victor between Creighton and Auburn on Saturday at 6:30 p.m. CT.
Houston (28-3, 19-1 The American) earned its first American Athletic Conference Championship and the league's automatic bid to the tournament. The title is the team's first since capturing the Conference USA Regular Season Championship in 1999.
South Dakota (29-3, 16-2 Summit) captured its third consecutive Summit League title, defeating Omaha in the tournament championship. Joining South Dakota and Houston in the regional is four-seed and host Creighton (27-4, 17-1 Big East) and Auburn (21-8, 10-8 SEC).
