Cougars cap regular season road action against American foes
CINCINNATI – Following its bye week, the University of Houston Soccer program is back in action for its final two road American Athletic Conference regular season matches against Cincinnati and UCF. The Cougars start with a 6 p.m. CT Thursday match with the Bearcats, followed by a noon CT matchup against the Knights on Sunday.
ABOUT THE COUGARS
· Houston is in its first season under Head Coach Jaime Frias.
· The Cougars are 5-5-3 on the season and 1-2-2 in conference play.
· In its last match, Houston fell in a 3-0 decision on Oct. 9 against Tulsa at the Carl Lewis International Complex.
SCOUTING THE BEARCATS
· Cincinnati is in its 10th season under Head Coach Neil Stafford.
· The Bearcats are 5-2-6 on the season and 1-1-3 in conference play.
· In its last match, Cincinnati picked up a 2-2 draw against SMU on Sunday in Dallas with Emma Schmelzer and Maddie Thiss scoring for the Bearcats.
· Cincinnati leads the all-time series against Houston, 6-4-2.
SCOUTING THE KNIGHTS
· UCF is in its 10th season under Head Coach Tiffany Roberts Sahaydak.
· The Knights are 6-2-4 on the season and 4-0-1 in conference play.
· In its last match, UCF earned a 3-2 victory against Tulsa on Sunday in Tulsa, Okla., with Kristen Scott scoring a brace and Dayana Martin adding a third goal to the Knights tally.
· Before its Sunday match against Houston, UCF is set to host East Carolina on Thursday at the UCF Soccer and Track Complex.
· The Knights lead the all-time series against Houston, 14-2-1.
LAST TIME
· In the last matchup against Cincinnati, Houston claimed a 2-1 victory (Oct. 24, 2021) over the Bearcats with Maddie Bowers and Kayla Izaguirre leading the Cougars to victory at the Carl Lewis International Complex.
· In the last matchup with UCF, Houston earned a 1-0 victory (Sept. 16, 2021) with Jazmin Grant scoring the lone goal of the match at the Carl Lewis International Complex to give Houston its second victory against the Knights.

Following their road trip, the Cougars will close out the regular season at the Carl Lewis International Complex against Temple for Senior Night at 7 p.m., Thursday, Oct. 27.
