SCOUTING THE BULLS. South Florida has dominated during the 2021-22 season with a 15-5 overall record. The Bulls hold a 5-1 record in conference, tied for the best in the American with UCF. South Florida is the reigning American Conference Champions. Mununga also leads The American and is 14th in the nation, averaging 11.4 rebounds per game, and is tops in the conference and fifth in the nation in total rebounds (216).
DOUBLE-DOUBLE. Taytana Hill recorded her first double-double of the season against Cincinnati. She scored 12 points and brought down 14 rebounds. It was the fourth game that Hill has tallied double-digit points and the third game she as grabbed double-digit rebounds. It was her seventh career double-double.
CONFERENCE PLAY. The Cougars are looking the bounce back in conference play. After opening play in the American with a 2-0 record, Houston has gone on a 0-5 losing streak with losses with UCF, Temple, Tulane, Cincinnati and Memphis.
MIXING IT UP. Despite only losing one starter, the Cougars have recorded nine different starting lineups throughout the season. Faced with injury, Houston has had to rely heavily on its depth. Britney Onyeje was the only player to have started all the games this season before missing the game against Memphis with an injury.
100 WINS. Head Coach Ronald Hughey is only three wins away from the 100th career win. This is Hughey's 8th season with the Cougars and holds a 97-129 overall record.
AGAINST MEMPHIS. Tiara Young led Houston in scoring with 11 points while Laila Blair contributed 10 points as well as leading the team with six rebounds.
75 YEARS of HOUSTON ATHLETICS. During the 2021-22 season, Houston Athletics will celebrate its 75th anniversary by recognizing its championship tradition, award-winning student-athletes and coaches and memorable moments from its rich history.
