Waters Named Conference Diver of the Week

HOUSTON – University of Houston diver Emilia Waters has been named the conference Diver of the Week, announced the American Athletic Conference on Tuesday.

The sophomore had an outstanding performance in the most recent meet against Tulane hosted by Houston at the CRWC Natatorium to conclude the spring home schedule. She finished the day with a first-place finish in the 1-Meter with a score of 292.43. Waters also placed third in the 3-Meter scoring 301.73 hitting her NCAA zone score in both rounds of competition.

A native of Calgary, Alberta, Canada, Waters has consistently found herself on the top of the leader board. The sophomore has hit her NCAA zone scores numerous times, as well as placing in the top three of multiple meets thus far in the 2021-22 season.

Throughout her freshman season, Waters advanced to a trio of finals at The American Championships helping Houston to win its fifth consecutive title. She finished fifth on the Platform, sixth in the 1-Meter and sixth in the 3-Meter.

Fans will have the opportunity to follow Waters' journey throughout the duration of the season at the American Conference Championships, Last Chance Meet, Diving Zones, and the NCAA Championships.
