Houston Tennis to Begin Fall Competition Friday

Cougars travel to SMU to start season
HOUSTON – Houston Tennis will travel to Dallas on Friday to begin its fall schedule against SMU with matches throughout the weekend concluding on Sunday.
The Cougars last went up against the Mustangs in April 2021. One of Houston's returning members, sophomore Laura Slisane, scored one of the two points in the unfortunate 2-4 defeat.

Last season, Houston finished the season with its most conference victories since the 2018-19 season after only playing one American Athletic Conference match in 2020 before the season cancellation. The Cougars ultimately finished with a record of 14-6, 3-2 AAC.
SERIES HISTORYÂ
Houston has faced SMU 13 times since 2002. The Cougars look to break the negative streak against the Mustangs and begin its season with a winning record.
UP NEXT
The Cougars will receive home court advantage on Oct. 1-3 with the University of Houston Fall Tournament. Fans interested in attending the weekend's matches are welcome to do so free of charge.
