Schouten and Zeghlouli Earn All-Big 12 Honors

Doubles pair named to All-Big 12 Second Team, first All-Conference awards since 2023
IRVING, Texas — University of Houston Tennis senior standouts Sophie Schouten and Chems Doha Zeghlouli were named to the All-Big 12 Doubles Second Team the league announced Thursday.
The honors mark the Cougars first league awards since 2023 and the first for Houston as members of the Big 12 Conference.
The doubles pair was a mainstay on court one, collecting a team-high 13 wins on the season including wins against ranked foes of Utah, BYU and Colorado.
Schouten and Zeghlouli spent multiple weeks ranked in the Intercollegiate Tennis Association's doubles rankings, listed as high as #82 in February.
The duo led the team to its first 11-0 start since 1990 including eight straight sweeps for the first time in program history. The Cougars earned its highest ranking of the season at #29 in the ITA poll, its highest in nearly a decade.
