WHAT TO WATCH FOR
« On Saturday, Houston will pay tribute to 75 Years of Houston Athletics. The Cougars will wear commemorative jerseys that feature a nod to several different eras of Houston Football.
« Since the start of the 2006 season, Houston is 24-8 in non-conference home games, outscoring opponents 1,335-693 in that stretch. The Cougars have won 11 of their last 13 home non-conference matchups dating to Sept. 6, 2014, against Grambling.
« Houston is 45-30 all-time in home openers including six straight victories (2015-present).
« The Cougars are 2-0 all-time against Grambling with both prior meetings coming in Houston. Houston's 47-0 win against Grambling on Sept. 6, 2014, remains the largest shutout victory in TDECU Stadium history. It was also the first victory at the facility.

« Cougar Pride members giving at the Varsity Level and up are welcome to enjoy food, entertainment and family fun at the Cougar Pride Tailgate Takeover: Powered by Tailgate USA. To be located outside of Gate 2 at the Beth and Dan Bellow Club Entrance, the CP Tailgate will feature music provided by DJ Teddi and barbeque by ROLLING BQNES. Cougar Pride members will also be able to taste a wide variety of locally made wines thanks to Haak Vineyards & Winery.
« Fans will enjoy the new Beer Garden located on Cullen Boulevard between Gate 1 and Gate 2 with tailgate games and a cash bar available.
« Houston's younger fans will enjoy the new Kids' Zone with inflatables, face painting, tattoos, tailgate games, and a Selfie station with our former student-athletes. Fans can find the new Kids' Zone between Gate 1 and Gate 4 on the north side of TDECU Stadium.

FIVE THINGS TO KNOW
« In the first all-time meeting between Houston and Grambling (Sept. 16, 2006), Cougar quarterback Kevin Kolb became the first signal caller in Houston history to reach 10,000 career passing yards. He went 27-for-31 with 297 yards on the day.
« Houston has scored in 258 consecutive games, a mark that ranks ninth longest among active streaks in the FBS. The streak began Sept. 30, 2000. The Cougars have also scored 10-plus points in 86 straight games (Sept. 6, 2014-present).
« In Houston's win last Saturday against Rice, running back Alton McCaskill totaled three touchdowns (35-yard catch, 1-yard rush and 2-yard rush). With the result, McCaskill became the first UH true freshman to score three touchdowns in a game since Bryce Beall against Tulane on Nov. 8, 2008.
« Houston has gotten off to a hot start in each of its first two games. The Cougars scored touchdowns on each of their first two drives against Texas Tech. Against Rice, Houston scored on each of its first three drives (touchdown, field goal, touchdown).
« Rice's seven points and 86 passing yards last Saturday each marked the fewest by an opponent in the Dana Holgorsen era (2019-present). The Owls' 212 total yards were the fewest by an opponent against Houston since Sept. 24, 2016 (Texas State).

« Grambling enters Saturday's matchup with a 1-1 record. The Tigers are coming off a 37-0 loss to Southern Miss.
« The Tigers played two quarterbacks against Southern Miss as Elijah Walker started the game and Aldon Clark came off the bench.
« Grambling starts the first leg of the Texas Two Step against Houston as the Tigers play in the State Fair Classic the following weekend against Prairie View A&M.
« Grambling was picked second in the Western Division in SWAC Preseason Poll.
LAST TIME AGAINST GRAMBLING
« Houston Football poured in 477 yards of offense, led by junior running back Kenneth Farrow, who ran for 130 yards and a touchdown, while the Cougars forced six turnovers en route to a 47-0 shutout win at TDECU Stadium.
« Five different Cougars jumped in the scoring action, notching five touchdowns, while kicker Kyle Bullard contributed with a career-high 17 points for Houston on four field goals and five extra points.
« Contributing to the scoring was sophomore receiver Greg Ward Jr., who notched his first career game with multiple touchdowns, tallying a receiving and rushing score to lead the Cougars. Ward finished the night with 19 yards receiving and 22 yards rushing.
