Quintet Named Pro Football Network Preseason All-Big 12

Thomas, Hurst, Boswell, Terrill, Webb earn Pro Football Network preseason all-conference accolades
HOUSTON – Five Houston Football players were named to Pro Football Network's Preseason All-Big 12 teams on Monday, headlined by First-Team selection Amare Thomas.
Joining Thomas on the publication's preseason all-conference list were four Third-Team selections including three offensive linemen with Shadre Hurst, Anthony Boswell, Drew Terrill and defensive back Kentrell Webb.
Thomas, who was a Biletnikoff Award Watch List addition late in the season last year, hauled in 12 touchdown receptions on 966 receiving yards on his way to an All-American season in 2025. His 966 receiving yards and 12 receiving touchdowns were the most by a Cougar since Tank Dell in 2022 and the Birmingham, Ala., native recorded six 20-yard touchdown receptions and three touchdowns of 50+ yards.
Hurst was named to the Outland Trophy Preseason Watch List earlier this month, awarded to the top interior linemen in the country – offense or defense. Hurst reunites with head coach Willie Fritz and offensive line coach Eman Naghavi in Houston following their time together at Tulane where Hurst was an All-American and Freshman All-American while earning All-AAC honors in The American Conference.
In 2025, Hurst was the top graded offensive lineman in the American Athletic Conference and the sixth highest graded guard in the country by PFF. At Tulane, Hurst helped Tulane to three conference titles (2022-23, 2025) and has allowed just one sack in four seasons.
Boswell was named to the Rimington Trophy Preseason Watch List earlier this month, awarded to the top center in college football. The 2025 Freshman All-American at Toledo, Boswell joined the Cougars in January and has cemented himself at center entering 2026. Last year, Boswell started all 12 games for Toledo and posted the 10th best offense grade by FBS centers and the third-best run-block grade among FBS centers.
Boswell didn't allow a sack in his first season seeing competition after transferring from Purdue following the 2024 season to Toledo where he earned All-MAC First-Team honors.
Terrill joins the Cougars from Miami (Ohio) where he garnered 2025 All-MAC Second-Team honors after posting the second-best offense grade by an offensive lineman in the MAC. The right-tackle can run-block and pass-block with the best in the country where his run-block grade by a tackle led the MAC (76.7) and his pass-block ranked second in the MAC (76.7). Terrill was named to the Athlon Sports Preseason All-Big 12 Fourth Team earlier this offseason.
Webb enters his third season at Houston, where he earned 2025 Athlon Sports All-Big 12 Fourth-Team honors after recording the third-most tackles on the team from the safety position with 71 tackles. The Katy, Texas native is coming off back-to-back 50+ tackle seasons and has started all 25 games for the Cougars since 2024.
