Jackson III shines in Washington debut
HOUSTON – Several former Houston Football student-athletes made key contributions to their respective teams as the NFL season got underway last Thursday night.

- The fourth-year Colts linebacker registered one tackle as the Colts fell, 28-16 to the Seattle Seahawks.
- Allen did not appear in Washington's 20-16 loss to the Los Angeles Chargers.
- Bowser started at linebacker for the Ravens, registering one tackle while playing 51 defensive snaps and 14 snaps on special teams.
- Egbule did not appear in Los Angeles 20-16 win over the Washington Football Team.
- After four seasons in Cincinnati, Jackson agreed to three-year, $40.5 million dollar contract with Washington this past offseason. In his Washington debut, Jackson III recorded one interception and two pass deflections.

- Jones made his first career start at right guard for the Arizona Cardinals in a 38-13 win over the Tennessee Titans.
- Keenum did not appear in Cleveland's 33-29 loss to the Kansas City Chiefs.
- Oliver record three tackles and one tackle for loss in Buffalo's 23-16 loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers.
- Roberts started at linebacker and recorded two tackles and a pass deflection in Miami's 17-16 win over the New England Patriots.
- The 2021 Sixth-Round selection was inactive (ankle) for the Bills 23-16 loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers.
- Stuard appeared on special teams and recorded a tackle in his debut in Tampa Bay's 33-29 win over the Dallas Cowboys.
- The 2021 First-Round pick was inactive for the New Orleans 38-3 win against the Green Bay Packers.
- Ward appeared on offense and special teams. He did not record a stat in the Philadelphia 32-6 win over the Atlanta Falcons.
- Wilson appeared on special teams as the kick returner logging one return for 11 yards in Cincinnati's 27-24 overtime win over the Minnesota Vikings.
