HOUSTON – Five Houston Football student-athletes have been named to the NFLPA Collegiate Bowl 2021-22 Big Board, the organization announced Friday.
Cougar honorees include defensive lineman David Anenih, defensive lineman Logan Hall, cornerback Marcus Jones, quarterback Clayton Tune and cornerback Damarion Williams.
Anenih and Hall were significant contributors for the Cougars on the defensive line a season ago. Anenih finished second on the team and fifth in The American with 4.5 sacks alongside 17 tackles while Hall totaled 23 tackles including 2.0 tackles for loss.
Williams, a 2020 AAC Honorable Mention All-Conference honoree, contributed 27 tackles and a team-best seven pass breakups a season ago. Jones dazzled on defense and as a punt returner, earned first-team all-conference honors as a return specialist, leading the FBS in punt return yards (337) including one touchdown.
Tune finished with 2,048 passing yards – 25th-most in Houston single-season history – a season ago. The signal caller moved into 12th place in Houston lore with 335 career completions. His 33 career passing touchdowns also rank 14th in Cougar history.
The 10th annual NFLPA Collegiate Bowl game at the historic Rose Bowl Stadium in Pasadena, California, will take place in January.
