HOUSTON – The Houston Football team, coming off a 10-3 season, a Texas Bowl win over LSU and a top 25 ranking to end the year, is gearing up for the most anticipated seasons in a decade with single-game tickets now available for purchase on Wednesday. Built By Houston, and powered by your support, this season shapes up to be one of the best in program history.
A plethora of Cougars, 12 to be exact, have already been tabbed Preseason All-Big 12 Conference selections, while offensive lineman Shadre Hurst, wide receiver Amare Thomas and defensive back Will James have earned Preseason All-America honors.
Houston is one of the most experienced teams in the country, with 35,000+ snaps played across the Cougars roster, including star quarterback Conner Weigman whose 36 touchdowns in 2025 is the most by a returning Big 12 quarterback.
Houston opens the season on Sept. 5 inside TDECU Stadium at 11 a.m. on ESPN against Oregon State – primetime kickoff and network for a Week 1 matchup. The last time the Cougars home opener kicked off at 11 a.m., 39,000-plus packed TDECU Stadium to see the Cougars shutout Lamar 42-0 in 2016.
The Cougars face Southern in Week 2 on Sept. 12 before hosting their Built By Houston game against UCF on Oct. 3. Founding Big 12 member Oklahoma State returns to Houston on October 17. Houston hosts Cincinnati on Nov. 7 before Senior Day on Nov. 28, two days after Thanksgiving, against Baylor.

For as low as $150, fans can get in on the excitement of Year 3 of the Head Coach Willie Fritz era with pivotal matchups against Oregon State, Southern, UCF, Oklahoma State, Cincinnati and Baylor as the Cougars look to improve on their 10-win season in 2025.
