Wilkins Added to Ray Guy Award Watch List

HOUSTON – University of Houston Football punter Laine Wilkins has been added to the Ray Guy Award Watch List, it was announced on Friday.
As a freshman, Wilkins finished with 38 punts for 1,583 yards (41.7 average) in 2020. He did not allow a punt return for positive yards and helped the Cougars rank second nationally (first in The American) in punt return defense.
Wilkins recorded his longest punt of the 2020 season at Cincinnati. He logged 18 punts downed inside the 20-yard line last year.
The Cougars return 17 starters from last year's squad and open the 2021 season on Sept. 4 inside NRG Stadium for the Texas Kickoff against Texas Tech.
