Wichita State transfer will compete as a junior in 2021-22
HOUSTON – Marcus Wochner signed a scholarship agreement and will compete for the University of Houston Men's Golf program during the 2021-22 season.
An award-winning player, Wochner will compete as a junior with the Cougars and have two years of eligibility remaining with the start of the 2021-22 campaign.
"Marcus is a tremendous athlete and has a lot of speed. He is the direction in which the game of golf is moving in the future," Dismuke said. "We are excited to have him as part of our program for the next two years as we work to accomplish our goals.

Wochner came to Houston after competing as a sophomore at Wichita State during the 2020-21 season.
Standing 6-foot-4 and weighing 205 pounds, he led the Shockers in 2020-21 with a 71.4 scoring average, which was the fourth lowest in WSU single-season history, and added four Top-10 finishes, including a second-place showing at the American Athletic Conference Championships on April 23-25.
A native of Holte, Denmark, Wochner opened the season with an eighth-place finish at the GCU Invitational and followed that with a third-place showing at the Twin Oaks Intercollegiate. He closed the year with a sixth-place finish at the MU Tiger Invitational, thanks to 69s in the First and Final Rounds, and opened The American Championships with a 66.
Before entering the NCAA Division I ranks, Wochner was an award-winning student-athlete at Odessa College. There, he earned NJCAA All-America Honorable Mention honors after tying for 20th at the 2019 NJCAA Championships.
He earned 2019 All-Western Junior College Athletic Conference honors after recording a 72.55 scoring average and was a three-time WJCAC Golfer of the Week. Off the course, Wochner received WJCAC All-Academic First-Team recognition in the Fall 2018 and Spring 2019 semesters and was a 2020 PING Academic All-American.
