Jones, Trahan Named to DCTF All-Texas Preseason Team

Marcus Jones selected as the best defensive back in Texas
HOUSTON – Houston was represented by senior cornerback Marcus Jones and junior tight end Christian Trahan on the 2021 Dave Campbell's All-Texas preseason team that was released by the publication.
Jones was selected by Dave Campbell's as the best defensive back in Texas and was tabbed as a first-team cornerback. The Enterprise, Ala., native was a 2020 PFF All-America Fourth Team selection after recording 24 tackles and one interception a year ago.
Jones was also a first-team All-America pick by Phil Steele Magazine, the FWAA and CBS/247 Sports as a return specialist in 2020. He led the FBS in punt return average in 2020 and was the only player in the FBS to have two games with at least 100 punt return yards.
Trahan was selected to the second team as a tight end after a breakout season in 2020. Last season, Trahan caught 22 passes for 294 yards and three touchdowns in eight games. The Sulphur, La., native has recorded 45 catches for 551 receiving yards in 18 career games.
